Heavey Quinn Irish Dance was established in 1985 under the leadership of Mary Heavey-Quinn, T.C.R.G, who is a member of various esteemed Irish dance associations including the Irish Dance Commission in Dublin, Ireland, the Irish Dancing Teacher’s Association of North America, and the Irish Dancing Teacher’s Association of New England.

Students of HQID actively participate in numerous events across the area and engage in various competitions on local, national, and international platforms.

The Director and staff aim to foster an appreciation for the history, culture, and tradition of Irish dancing while motivating students to immerse themselves in both the social and competitive aspects of the art form.

At Heavey-Quinn Irish Dance, students delve into the intricacies of traditional Irish step dancing, mastering the Reel, Jig, and Hornpipe, in addition to Ceili or team dancing. Emphasis is placed on proper placement, timing, and maintaining correct body carriage, all while enhancing strength and perseverance.
