New England Regional Champion

Our Story

Heavey Quinn Irish Dance was established in 1985 under the guidance of Mary Heavey-Quinn, T.C.R.G; a member of the Irish Dance Commission in Dublin, Ireland; the Irish Dancing Teacher’s Association of North America; and the Irish Dancing Teacher’s Association of New England.

Students from the HQID participate at many events throughout the area and attend numerous competitions on a local, national and international level.

It is the goal of the Director and staff to promote the history, culture and tradition of Irish dancing and to encourage students to participate in the social and competitive environment of Irish dancing.

Students at the Heavey-Quinn Irish Dance learn the art of traditional Irish step dancing. Dancers will learn the Reel, Jig, and Hornpipe, along with Ceili or team dancing. Students are taught placement, timing, and proper body carriage while building strength and perseverance.
